Kate Eliza Beale
The mystery of this picture was solved when we borrowed a photo album from June Woodend on September 15, 2004. We were not sure whether this was a picture of Granny or one of her sisters. We were able to determine this was indeed a picture of Granny. It appears to have been taken prior to Kate’s marriage to John Woodruff.

This is one of Granny’s sisters, Elvina May Beale.

Elvina married Harry Duncaff Lloyd, MBE in 1899.  These pictures are courtesy of Barb Peacock, a great niece of Harry and Elvina Duncaff Lloyd.  note:  MBE stands for member of the British Empire.  Notice of the award appeared in the London Gazette, 7th of June 1918 to Chief Gunner Harry Duncaff Lloyd RN.
